News:
We have 24 participants for the upcoming Nutrition Challenge. We will be drawing names for teams this week and we will post teams once finished. With 24 people that is 6 Teams and a pot of $1200 winning team take all. We can’t emphasize enough the importance to your team of your participation. If you don’t fulfill the challege rules, expectation and mini WODs you hurt the members of your team who are all trying so hard to win, so when you feel like giving in remember there are 3 other people vying for success and they are counting on you to help them achieve that success.
Registration for The CrossFit Open is live. The Open begins Thursday February 22 and runs for 5 weeks. The Open is a great venue to test yourself and see where you stand amongst the 300,000 other CF athletes in the world. We would love to see high participation as this is highlight of our year. Even if you scale workouts scaling options are available and nobody gets left out. The Open brings out the inner competitor in all of us. Over the years CFB has participated in The Open and we have seen many firsts and many PRs. Last year we introduced Friday Night Lights at CFB for the Open and we will do that again this year as the energy was fantastic and the community element was electric. This is my favorite time of year as I get to see you all excel from your training. Registration is $20 and you can click here to sign up.
With snowy season upon us please bring or keep indoor shoes here at the Box. Salt, slush and muck damage the floors not to mention nobody wants to do warm ups or floor work in a puddle of slush. Thanks for understanding.
We are about to launch our new website this week. With that said our current WordPress web blog will be turned off and all WOD posts will be through SugarWOD. If you received daily notifications of the WODs on WordPress and you still want to get notification you will need to download the SugarWOD app. You will get push notifications every night at 8pm just like before. There will be a link on the new site for daily WODs and the WOD will still publish to Facebook and Twitter. If you haven’t already, you can download the app SugarWOD or for Android, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flatironssoftware.sugarwod
Many people have asked if this effects MindBody; No, MBO is still our scheduling software and remains in place.
Pure Indoor Cycling has taken over the back room with 15 bikes. For those who are looking to try a different cardio program with cold weather coming or for a Sunday morning activity they offer many sessions through the week and 3 on Sunday. They are running a great Groupon deal if you want to give them a try.
If you are on Facebook and not yet a part of our Community Chat page please request to be added to the group. The CrossFit Beverly Community Chat Page is a great resource for CFB info, banter and community.
We would love to get positive “Athlete Testimonials” to post on the CFB Page. We want to share our community to all who can participate and your testimonials are so important in giving people confidence to come through our doors. If you have some free time and have good things to say about your CFB experience, please jot it down. We would love to share it. Thanks in advance.
PARENTS:Please, please keep an eye on your children if you bring them to the box. We understand sitting in the lobby is no fun for them, but this is a safety issue. Barbells come down hard from overhead and can not be stopped even if a child runs out onto the floor. The staff is not responsible for keeping your children in the lobby area and should not have to police them.
Also, please clean up after your children. The coaches are not babysitters or maids for your kids. If you bring food/drink for you children please be accountable for it before you leave. This request is no different than asking you to put away equipment and should not fall on the staff. We are between two restaurants and we do not want to draw rodents into our space.
